Job#: 2021446 Job Description: Summary The Cisco Network Engineer role is responsible for configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing Cisco solutions for a California State Agency. Scope of Role Responsibilities Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serving as the dedicated Cisco Network Engineer for the California State Agency. Configuring, installing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing technical networking solutions. Assisting with assessments, planning, design, configuration, installation, and support of solutions. Validating solution designs, bill of materials, statements of work, and labor estimates when appropriate. Tracking client work, service calls, and documentation accurately and timely. Traveling between Agency sites is required; candidate needs reliable transportation. All travel expenses, including IRS mileage reimbursement, tolls, and parking, will be covered. Job Requirements Minimum Security Clearance: No Clearance Role Qualifications and Requirements The following are minimum qualifications and requirements for this role: At least 5 years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer, related to the specified duties. Strong Cisco networking experience, including Cisco Wireless. Knowledge of network monitoring, management, troubleshooting tools, and techniques. Familiarity with other networking products such as Palo Alto, F5, NSX/Forescout. Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills. Strong time management skills. Ability to travel to client locations as needed. Willingness to work evenings and weekends during client cutovers. High level of independence and strong client service skills. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation and cell phone required. Additional qualifications (preferred but not required): Bachelor's degree.
