Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will:

  • Provide Clinical Expertise: Offer guidance and support to nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate Orientation: Develop and implement individualized orientation programs for new nursing staff.
  • Facilitate Continuing Education: Create educational programs that meet the evolving needs of our Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) staff.
  • Promote Professional Development: Foster a culture of learning and growth through teaching and coaching.
  • Enhance Clinical Outcomes: Utilize evidence-based practices to improve patient satisfaction and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Build strong relationships with healthcare team members to ensure cohesive patient care.
  • Lead Quality Improvement Initiatives: Design and direct projects that enhance clinical practices and patient outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Education: A BSN from an accredited university; a Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Licensure: A current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in clinical practice, nursing education, or management, with a minimum of 3 years in Behavioral Health.
  • Certifications: BLS certification and Basic Cardiac Life Support instructor certification within one year of employment.
  • Competencies: Strong communication skills, clinical competency, and basic computer skills.
