Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Assists in providing high quality, cost-effective care by performing delegated tasks. Proactively interacts with patients families and other customers to ensure a family centered experience. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire. Preferred prior patient care experience. Core duties include assisting in direct patient care, helping with activities of daily living, safely transporting patients, performing assigned tests such as glucose monitoring and routine phlebotomy, obtaining and recording vital signs, providing respiratory support, assisting physicians and nurses with examinations and procedures, assisting with basic rehab activities, communicating nutrition issues, maintaining a clean and safe environment, answering telephones and patient call bells, completing errands, and limited access to medications during transport. Physical requirements include heavy work with lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling carts up to 200 pounds, with use of safe patient handling equipment. Work environment accommodates individuals with disabilities. Skills required include competency in safe patient handling equipment, excellent communication, customer service orientation, ability to handle multiple demands, and good time management. The position is 0.6 FTE part-time, weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), night shift from 7p-7a with scheduled weekly hours of 24.
